Manually Calculating Your Mulch Needs

Measure the length and width of your mulch area in feet.
 

Determine how deep (thickness) you want to layer your mulch (i.e. 1/2", 1", 2", etc.).
 

Multiply your total area in feet by how deep you want your mulch in inches.

In order to allow for proper oxygen movement to and from your soil, we recommend a depth of 2" to 4".
